Happy birthday!
I’m happy to have this moment with you likely my last – to share just how much your family has meant to me for these 14 years. Especially you.
I’ve valued your welcoming spirit and generous nature. I have appreciated our kitchen table chats about everything thing from for you grew up, to philosophies on life, parenting, and work. All your support and encouragement as I completed college and pursued different professional opportunities has meant so much to me.
It hasn’t always been easy though, existing in stark contrast to your ideas and ideals of being a wife, mother and woman. Those titles never being synonymous with martydom for me.
There’s been so much change this year. Despite all the shifts, my love for you will never change. I do and will continue to hold dear the memories we’ve made all these years. Coordinated Christmas portraits, summer visits, birth announcements, “Hezzy”, pineapple cocktails… too too many to name.
Thank you for welcoming into your life and family all those years ago.
I will forever grieve those memories, the relationship and family we once shared — you.
I love you – forever family.
